Texas sets the most a notary may charge for each notarial act. Travel and service fees aren’t notary fees. I agree on them with you before the appointment and list them on their own line of your receipt.

I confirm the full cost, notary fee plus travel, before anything is booked. You’ll usually hear back within the hour.
I come to you
I check each signer’s ID, watch every signature, record the signing in my notary record book, and apply my seal.
Done right the first time.
A rushed notarization is one that can be challenged. I take the extra five minutes so your document holds up at the county clerk’s office, in court, and years down the road.
- Identification checked and recorded for every signer, every time
- Every page reviewed for missing dates, names and initials before I stamp
- Witnesses arranged when your document needs them
- Discreet, patient service for seniors and families under stress

Your table is my office.
That’s the whole point of a mobile notary: you don’t go anywhere. Home, office, hospital room, coffee shop, the tailgate of a pickup. If you can sign there, I can notarize there.
Serving Liberty Hill, Georgetown, Cedar Park, Round Rock and surrounding areas, as far as Austin. Travel is free in Santa Rita Ranch and Morningstar.
Hi, I’m Kathy.
I started Big Sky Notary to make getting a document notarized simple. You can count on me to be professional, reliable and convenient.
I come to you, check every page before I stamp, and tell you the full cost before you book.
Questions I hear a lot.
What ID do I need?
A current government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, state ID, passport or military ID. If ID is a problem, which is common with elderly signers, get in touch first. A credible witness can often solve it.
Can you come today?
Usually, yes. Same-day appointments are my specialty. Reach me before noon and I can almost always be at your table by evening.
Can you notarize online?
Yes. I’m commissioned as a Texas online notary, so you can sign by live video from home. You’ll need a computer or phone with a camera, a valid photo ID, and the document ready to upload. Texas allows up to $25 for the online session on top of the regular notary fee. See how a session works.
The signer is in the hospital. Is that okay?
Yes, and I’m glad to help. The signer has to be alert, able to understand what they’re signing, and willing to sign when I arrive. I’ll help you pick a good time and tell you what to have ready.
Can you certify a copy of my birth certificate?
No. Texas notaries can’t certify copies of birth certificates, marriage licenses, or any document recorded in public records. Order a certified copy from the office that issued it, such as the county clerk or Texas Vital Statistics. I can certify copies of documents that will never be recorded.
Do you prepare documents or give legal advice?
No. A notary verifies identity and witnesses signatures but can’t draft documents, choose which form you need, or give legal advice. I’m glad to point you to local professionals who can.
What if the document isn’t ready when you arrive?
Send me a photo of it ahead of time and I’ll check for blank spaces and missing pages before I drive out. If I do have to come back, the return trip is billed at the same mileage rate. It’s free in Santa Rita Ranch and Morningstar.
Ready when you are.
Tell me what you’re signing and where you are. I’ll confirm the full cost and a time, usually within the hour.
